Here are some facts about the condition and direction of the
Stanford AI Lab.
1. As you probably remember, D.E.C. plans to give us a KL-10
processor to replace our KA-10 and PDP-6. This is out of appreciation
for all the Foonly ideas they have used in the KL-10 and perhaps out
of appreciation for not having actually built Foonly. This will be a
big help to us, because our limiting resource has been processing power
for several years although some tasks are memory limited and some other
improvements are highly desirable. However, replacing the processor
is quite complicated for the following reasons:
